2H Offshore has completed a contract for the detailed design of a minimum facilities platform for the independent oil and gas company, Perenco based in Paris.

The new minimum facilities wellhead platform known as DIF1 has been successfully installed in the Dissoni field, offshore Cameroon in 7m water depth and shall form part of a network of platforms in the vicinity with interconnected flowlines and power distribution.

The DIF1 platform, measuring 10m x 15m represents a cost effective alternative to a jacket structure and offers installation flexibility, being designed for installation from a barge or jack-up. Leading all aspects of the detailed design, 2H Offshore undertook in-house development of the structural design and novel aspects of the installation procedure, whilst managing DPS (Bristol) Ltd for the design of process piping and instrumentation.

“This project is a major milestone for 2H,” said John McGrail, Director of 2H Offshore Ltd. “The CoSMOS system is ideal for operators looking for economic means to develop small fields and 2H has already developed a range of solutions to suit a variety of well counts and water depths up to 70m.”

The DIF1 CoSMOS platform was installed in field in April 2012 and is due to start production later this year.
