ABB Lummus Global and Ceská rafinérská, a.s. have signed a contract for the capacity expansion and revamp of a hydrocracking unit (HCU) at Ceská rafinérská’s Litvínov refinery in the Czech Republic. It is the second EPC contract awarded by Ceská rafinérská to ABB Lummus Global this year. The first contract for the selective hydrogenation unit at Kralupy refinery was signed earlier this year.

The capacity of the hydrocracking unit will be increased from 130 to 160 metric tons per day. The majority of the revamp work will be executed during the refinery shutdown period in the fourth quarter of 2007, and the unit will be started up with the new planned capacity.

ABB Lummus Global will be providing engineering, procurement, and construction services from their offices in Brno. The contract value has not been disclosed.

This award marks a continuation of the long-term relationship between ABB Lummus Global and Ceská rafinérská, a.s., and is proof of a confidence shown in ABB Lummus Global’s capabilities.
