The Aker Solutions and IHI partnership has received a signed Notice of Substantial Completion for Sempra LNG's Cameron LNG liquefied natural gas (LNG) receipt terminal near Lake Charles, Louisiana, USA.

The Cameron LNG terminal project combined Aker Solutions' expertise in regasification engineering, construction management, commissioning and start-up with IHI's design and manufacturing knowledge of LNG storage and processing systems.

"We are pleased this project has reached completion," said John Siffert, head of Aker Solutions' LNG business. "The start up and completion of the performance tests for the Cameron LNG terminal is the culmination of several years of hard work. Our project team has done a great job."

Cameron LNG's first commissioning cargo arrived June 21. A subsequent delivery was made on June 30. The terminal is capable of processing 1.5 billion standard cubic feet per day (Bscf/d) of natural gas.

Aker Industrial Constructors was responsible for construction management of many subcontracts as well as self-performing portions of direct hire construction work.

Aker Bowen, a division of Aker Plant Services Group, was responsible for leading the joint team of Aker Solutions and IHI in commissioning and start-up.

Aker Solutions US, Inc. and IHI Inc. were the contracting parties responsible for delivering the project.
