Altus signs contract for automation for platforms P-58 and P-62

Altus signed on Thursday (2/6), a contract for the automation of new oil rigs under construction by Petrobras P-58 and P-62 in the amount of U.S. $ 8,250,000.00, acquired by Petrobras Netherlands BV (PNBV). The company won the international bidding and will be responsible for the automation system of the two platforms. This contract is the beginning of a new cycle for Altus, who enters definitely in the market for new platforms, where it began the demands of the pre-salt will be spread over the next 15 years.

The system to be developed by Altus Automation has about 9000 control points per platform, and is composed of five subsystems: control and monitoring of production and utilities; process shutdown (shutdown of the production system in case of emergency) , fire and gas (responsible for fire and gas detection and fire fighting), Hull (performs the control and monitoring of variables related to utilities installed on the deck of the ship and ship systems), and Hull Shutdown (emergency shutdown of hull).

The P-58 will be installed in the North Field of Whales, in the Campos Basin located in the Holy Spirit. The integration of the modules of this platform will take place in the port of Rio Grande / RS. The P-62 will be established in the field grunt, also in the Campos Basin in the state of Rio de Janeiro and integration will be the port of Suape / PE. The two platforms are kind of FPSOs (Floating Production Storage and Offloading), the acronym that means Floating Production Storage and oil. Each will have capacity to produce 180,000 barrels of oil per day, they should go into operation in 2013 and 2014, respectively.
