AMEC, the international project management and services company, has won an engineering services contract from Venture Production (LSE: VPC, http://www.vpc.co.uk) for the topside works associated with the development of the Annabel field. Annabel is situated in block 48/10a in the southern sector of the North Sea.

The project is a subsea tie-back to the existing Venture Production operated Audrey field. AMEC’s scope of work includes all topsides detailed engineering, procurement and platform modifications to facilitate the Annabel subsea completion on both the Audrey ‘A’ and ‘B’ platforms.

“This award clearly demonstrates AMEC’s ability to deliver a responsive, fast track service to meet the needs of emerging independent operators who will undoubtedly play an increasingly important role in the United Kingdom Continental Shelf,” said Neil Bruce, managing director of AMEC’s Oil and Gas Division.

The project involves modifications to existing piping systems and the provision of new gas metering facilities on the Audrey ‘A’ platform. Work on Audrey ‘B’ will include the installation of a new subsea control system together with new monitoring and chemical injection functions. AMEC’s scope also includes the provision of the controls interface to LOGGS (Lincolnshire Offshore Gas Gathering System).
