On April 29, the foundations of Ansai LNG project was laid in Ansai County, Shaanxi Province.

The project is invested by China Natural Gas Company Limited, a joint stock company of CNPC, and will be constructed by CNPC Changqing Petroleum Exploration Bureau. With an investment totaling RMB 1.194 billion, the project is planned to come into operation in 2011, reaching an annual production capacity of 400,000 tons of LNG.

Ansai LNG project will certainly promote natural gas development in Yan’an area, ensure gas supply to surrounding cities, and boost local economic and social development.
