Bluewater has been awarded a contract by BP Norge AS to conduct a Front End Engineering Design (FEED) study for the Turret Mooring System on the Skarv and Idun FPSO. Upon successful completion of the FEED at the end of this year and subject to BP receiving partner approval and government approval of a Plan for Development and Operations (PDO), Bluewater will receive a contract for the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) for the Turret Mooring System.

The Skarv & Idun FPSO will be located in the Northern part of the Norwegian Sea in about 350 meters of water. During the FEED Bluewater will work as part of an integrated team with BP’s other FEED contractors to develop the FPSO and subsea infrastructure. Delivery of the turret mooring system will be in 2009 with first production of the FPSO scheduled for 2010.

Skarv and Idun fields are combined oil and gas developments. The Skarv Field is operated by BP with a 30 percent ownership in the field. Other field partners are: Statoil (30 percent), Norske Shell AS (25 percent) and ExxonMobil (15 percent). The Idun field is operated by Statoil with a 50 percent ownership. Other field partners are: Shell (40 percent) and Hydro (10 percent)
