The Lube Oil Base Stocks (LOBS) Project was inaugurated at Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) refinery at Mumbai, India by the Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Mr. Murali Deora. The LOBS Project comprises Chevron Lummus Global’s (CLG) unique integration of its ISOCRACKING technology with ISODEWAXING and ISOFINISHING processes to produce not only Euro and Bharat compliant fuels but environmentally friendly, superior quality API Gp-II Lubricant
Base Oils.

BPCL executed the project with record safety, within its budget and a fast-track schedule with CLG’s innovative catalysts, low-cost process design configuration and its technical services. Commenting on the remarkable execution of India’s/World’s first Gp-II lubes/fuels integrated hydroprocessing plant, Ajay K. Gupta, CLG’s representative in India said, it is a dream turned into reality and observed, “smooth commissioning of the LOBS Project demonstrates that BPCL is not only one of the pioneers among Indian Refineries in Quality, Environmental and Safety systems but also in technology deployment”
