Cal Dive International, Inc. (Nasdaq: CDIS) has signed a contract with Chevron USA, Inc. to provide logistical support during construction of the Spar for the Genesis Development Project. The MSV Uncle John will be dynamically positioned alongside the Spar in 2,600 ft. of water to accommodate personnel and materials involved in the hook-up and commissioning of the facility. The charter period will commence next week and is expected to have duration of approximately 12 weeks.

Owen Kratz, Chairman & Chief Executive Officer, stated that “the award of this contract underlines the tremendous versatility of the Uncle John, features that allow CDI to offer cost effective solutions to a wide variety of customer needs. The Genesis Development Project required a vessel that could work in close proximity to the Spar, and the Uncle John is one of only a handful of semi-submersibles available on the worldwide market.”
