Following an open competitive procedure, the decision was made to engage China Petroleum Engineering & Construction Corporation (СРЕСС, affiliated with CNPC) in the construction of the Amur Gas Processing Plant (GPP) on the basis of an EPC contract.

According to the contract, СРЕСС will design, manufacture and supply equipment, as well as build booster compressor shops and gas dehydration, purification and fractionation units.

The contract requires the involvement of Russian compressor equipment producers and a Russian specialized company responsible for supplying all the units with automation systems.

An agreement between NIPIGAZ (general contractor managing the construction of the Amur GPP) and СРЕСС will be signed shortly.

Background

The Amur GPP with a design capacity of 42 billion cubic meters of gas per year will be the largest gas processing plant in Russia and one of the biggest in the world. The GPP will include the world's largest helium production facility (up to 60 million cubic meters per year).

Linde AG will supply the Amur GPP with the core process equipment for cryogenic recovery of helium and valuable petrochemical substances from gas.

Gazprom’s Amur GPP will be technologically linked to an advanced hydrocarbon processing facility whose construction project is currently under consideration by SIBUR.
