Tap Oil Limited (“Tap”) advises that the Woollybutt South Development has been completed with the Woollybutt-4H well ready for production to re-commence from the Woollybutt field within the next few days.

The Woollybutt South Development ties in the Woollybutt-4H development well, that was drilled and completed in 2007 to the Woollybutt Four Vanguard FPSO.

The Woollybutt-4H well was re-entered and sidetracked as a horizontal well in the Top Barrow Sandstones in the southern lobe of the Woollybutt field. This lobe contains similar oil to the Northern Lobe of the Woollybutt Field.

Woollybutt South Development installation activities commenced on May 14th with the arrival of the CSO Venturer and the heavy lift vessel that transported equipment to site. Installation of the subsea equipment to tie in the Woollybutt 4H well to the Woollybutt Four Vanguard FPSO proceeded as programmed and has been completed within the planned schedule and budget.

The Woollybutt South Lobe was originally discovered by the Woollybutt-3A well in 1999 and subsequently appraised by the Woollybutt-4 and Woollybutt-5A wells. Incorporating the Woollybutt-4H well will assist in reaching the greater Woollybutt Field ultimate reserves of approximately 40 MMbbls of which 29 MMbbls have been produced to date.

The Woollybutt-4H well will be ready to commence production when the Four Vanguard FPSO has been approved to re-commence production which is expected within the next few days. Production rates are expected to be approximately 12,000 BOPD when all wells are producing to the Four Vanguard.
