Consortium TSKJ(JGC Corporation and its associates TECHNIP of France, SNAMPROGETTI of Italy, and Kellogg Brown & Root of the U.S.)has won a lump-sum, turnkey contract from Nigeria LNG Limited (NLNG; a joint venture 49% owned by Nigerian National Petroleum Corp., 26.6% by Shell Gas B.V., 15% by ELF Cleag Ltd., and 10.4% by AGIP International B.V.) to construct a third LNG train for NLNG's large LNG complex planned at Bonny Island, Rivers State, Nigeria.

In this third-train expansion project, the consortium, including JGC, is responsible for design, equipment/materials procurement, construction and test run services. Completion is schedule for April 2003.

This project, which follows the first and second LNG trains being completed by the same consortium, is intended to build a third train with a similar capacity (2.95 million tons of LNG per year), which will bring the LNG complex's total production capacity to 8.85 million tons per annum. This will make the LNG facilities one of the world's largest LNG production complexes.

In addition to the new LNG train, the consortium is responsible under the contract to provide design, procurement, and construction services for a one-million-ton-per-year LPG recovery plant and associated utility/off-site facilities.

This contract award is believed to reflect NLNG's high regard of the consortium's project execution capability as proven through its work on the first and second trains, as well as JGC's extensive construction experience in Nigeria, including gas processing and other types of plants.
