As reported by Xuyan from Digital Engineering Design Institute on May 15, 2014, the design of the EPC project “Gas Field Water Comprehensive Treatment for 1.7 Billion m3/a Production Test Project of Yuanba Gas Field” has been completed on May 10 and the design documents published on May 12 have been packed and sent to Yuanba, Sichuan on time. All project personnel participating in the design can now enjoy the fruits.
This project is one of the key projects for putting into production of Phase I of Yuanba Gas Field, and its operation and commissioning will directly affect the commissioning and production of the whole gas field. Therefore, leaders from Sinopec and SPC have attached great importance to this project. SPE has set up a project team comprising excellent specialists under the management mode of “leading group of SPE + EPC project department”. The project team made elaborate arrangement and close collaboration and gave full play to all necessary sources, which ensured the smooth progress of the project.
During the design stage, in face of such difficulties as tight time schedule, heavy task, great technical difficulties, short purchase cycle, lagged and outdated data about manufacturer’s equipment, crossing and overlapping of design, purchase and construction, designers from Process & Piping Engineering Institute, Digital Engineering Design Institute and other disciplines gave priority to the project, worked ahead of time, made concerted efforts to cooperate with each discipline, reasonably adjusted the work flow and provided design documents necessary for the purchase and construction, so as to ensure that the project can be commenced in advance. Since the start-up of project in the middle of this March, designers have worked overtime for about 2 months continuously in spite of holidays and weekends to promote the progress of project. For the hard work of all project team members, the detailed design has been completed smoothly on May 10, 5 days in advance as compared with the schedule.
The Water Comprehensive Treatment Project for Yuanba Gas Field is the first project to which the digital integrated design system is applied by SPE in sewage treatment. The Project Team developed unified plant structure and coding rules, supplemented the pipe material database and extended the water treatment equipment library based on the features of sewage treatment project. The designers continuously optimized the design plan and used the concept of modular and skid design. They independently designed 4 skids like pressured two-phase sewage receiving tank skid, and pressured two-phase sewage buffer tank, and adopted 5 skid plants for filter, desulphurization, pressured sludge filtration, etc., achieving the prefabrication of modular and skid design of sewage plant, reducing the engineering investment and shortening the construction period. To improve the quality of design, the Project Team has organized several review meetings on plan as well as model review inside discipline, and carried out three joint reviews for 30%, 60% and 90% models, laying a foundation for improving the quality and safety of the project.
The completion of design is a new start point rather than the end point. All designers will take all efforts to give technical support in accordance with the requirements of EPC project to ensure that the project can be put into operation as scheduled and show the good image of SPE in Yuanba Gas Field.
