Neste Jacobs was the main EPC-contractor for Neste Oil Porvoo Refinery´s new diesel line, which started-up in summer 2007.

The new production line uses residue oil to produce sulphur-free, clean motor fuels, particularly diesel fuel. The fuel meets the latest environmental requirements in Europe and North America.

Challenging Diesel project in brief:

  • Residue Hydrocracking Unit (Licensor: Chevron Lummus Global)
  • Hydrogen Production Unit (Licensor: Uhde GmbH)
  • Project included large revampings and integration of existing units
  • Investment cost about EUR 750 million
  • Capacity approx 1 Mt/a of sulphur-free diesel oil
  • Area of the new line about 4.5 hectares.
