Gulf Interstate Engineering Company announces the award of a contract with subsidiaries of Enbridge Energy Partners, L.P. and Enbridge Inc. to provide detailed engineering, design, and procurement services for the US portion of the Alberta Clipper and Southern Lights Projects in North Dakota, Minnesota and northern Wisconsin.

This is in addition to the preliminary engineering services that Gulf is already providing on these projects. The Alberta Clipper Project includes 326-miles of 36-inch diameter crude oil pipeline from the US/ Canadian border to Superior, WI and three (3) new 11,000 hp pump stations.

The Southern Lights Project consists of 136-miles of 20-inch diameter crude oil pipeline and 190-miles of 20-inch diameter diluent pipeline. The Southern Lights Project also includes five (5) new 6,500 hp pump stations, the reversal of flow at one (1) existing pump station, conversion of two (2) existing pump stations and six (6) new 200,000 bbl + storage tanks. The work will start immediately and continue through August 2008.

In addition, Gulf will be supplying construction management and engineering personnel to support other projects being developed by Enbridge in the United States.
