TonenGeneral Sekiyu K.K. (TonenGeneral) today signed agreements with Shimizu LNG Co., Ltd. (Shimizu LNG) and Shizuoka Gas Co., Ltd. (Shizuoka Gas) on the facility expansion at Shimizu LNG Sodeshi Terminal.

Shimizu LNG, in which TonenGeneral has a 35% stake, will expand the LNG-related facilities at Shimizu LNG Sodeshi Terminal (Shimizu-ku, Shizuoka City) to meet the growing demand of natural gas, targeting year 2010 for operation startup. Currently, Shimizu LNG has two LNG storage tanks in the site. The facility expansion project includes construction of the No.3 LNG tank (160KKL) and LNG vaporizing facilities.

Under this expansion project, We at TonenGeneral will offer the land and berths of our Shimuzu Terminal for more effective use, and also invest in LNG vaporizing facilities to be installed by Shimizu LNG. The No.3 LNG tank will be constructed by Shizuoka Gas, our equity partner.

Shimizu LNG was founded in August 1992. Its major operations include receiving, storing and selling LNG or Liquefied Natural Gas. Its current paid-in capital is 3 billion yen.
