Foster Wheeler Ltd. (NYSE: FWC) today announced that its subsidiary Foster Wheeler Italiana S.p.A. has been awarded a basic and front end engineering design (FEED) contract by Emerol Ltd. for the revamp of a delayed coker unit at its refinery in Turkmenbashi, the Republic of Turkmenistan.

The total value of the project is approximately $43 million and the FEED is expected to be completed by early 2003.

The contract calls for modernization and debottlenecking of the present delayed coker unit, which is of Russian design. The revamp of this conversion unit will include Foster Wheeler's proprietary delayed coking technology.

The Turkmenbashi refinery is the largest of two in Turkmenistan and is undergoing a major modernization as the country expands the development of its oil and gas industry. The revamp of the delayed coker is the start of this modernization program.
