First Cargo of Qatargas LNG Delivered to Toho Gas

The first LNG cargo from Qatargas to Toho Gas Co. Ltd. ( delivered on November 21st at the Chita Terminal near Nagoya in Japan. With the discharge of this cargo, Qatargas has now supplied all eight long-term, Japanese buyers with LNG. This first cargo represents another milestone for the entire Qatargas project, and it confirms company’s dedication to quality and service to its valuable customers in Japan.

A ceremony to commemorate this first cargo to Toho Gas was held on board the Al Zubarah, which carried the cargo from Ras Laffan in Qatar, and it was attended by management of Toho Gas and Chubu Electric Power Co. The welcome speech to Qatargas and to Al Zubarah was given by the Director/General Manager Raw Materials Department of Toho Gas, Mr. H. Kawai. On behalf of Qatargas, the JLO General Manager, Mr. Majid Al-Issa, made a speech, wishing a long and steady relationship between Qatargas and Toho Gas.

Toho Gas is the third largest gas company in Japan. Its service area covers important populated areas and industrial centers in the Nagoya and Yokkaichi regions.
