December 2008

Operations on El Franig-6 well are now completed following the successful Frac of the Ordovician Hamra Quartzite reservoir. Post Frac productivity is more than 3 times Pre Frac production. This is the first successful Frac in the Ordovician in Tunisia and opens up a neglected Ordovician play in the country. Careful modelling of the rock properties based on log and core analysis together with analysis of the regional stress regime have ensured optimal design for the Frac job. Sound engineering, followed by successful execution of the Frac stimulation, lead to this great success for Perenco Tunisia and the whole Well Construction Team.
