Fluor to Provide Design Services for Major Oil Sands Project

Fluor Corporation (NYSE: FLR) today announced that it has been selected by Canadian Natural Resources Limited to provide design services related to a portion of the utilities and offsites of CNRL's Horizon Oil Sands project located in the Fort McMurray region of northern Alberta. The value of the award was not disclosed and was booked in Fluor's first quarter.

Fluor will perform the engineering design specifications on the project's utilities and offsite facilities including those related to tankage, heat integration, flare and relief, electrical distribution, cooling, piping and underground systems. The completed oil sands facility will produce 232,000 barrels per day of synthetic light crude oil to be fed to refineries in Canada and the United States. The project is scheduled to be completed in three phases, with first oil in 2008 and increasing production phased in over a five-year period.

"Fluor's extensive experience executing large oil sands projects enables us to deliver fit-for-purpose design and cost-effective solutions," said Jeff Faulk, Fluor's group president of Oil, Gas & Power. "We will use that expertise to enhance the value of Canadian Natural's assets and increase their long-term business success."

Fluor's offices in Calgary, Canada, and Long Beach, Calif., will execute the work.

Canadian Natural Resources Limited is a senior independent oil and natural gas exploration, development and production company based in Calgary. Its operations are focused in Western Canada, the North Sea and offshore West Africa.
