Foster Wheeler Ltd. (Nasdaq: FWLT) announced today that Foster Wheeler Italiana S.p.A. has been awarded a contract for engineering services and supply of critical equipment for the JSC Mozyr Oil Refinery, Republic of Belarus. The terms of the award were not disclosed and the contract will be included in Foster Wheeler's second-quarter bookings.

Foster Wheeler Italiana will provide basic design for a grassroots hydrogen production unit based on Steam Methane Reforming (SMR) hydrogen production technology and it will supply the materials for the steam reformer, which will use Foster Wheeler's proprietary TERRACE-WALL™ technology.

Foster Wheeler Italiana will also provide technical assistance services during the construction, commissioning and start-up of this hydrogen unit.

This contract follows previous awards by JSC Mozyr Oil Refinery to Foster Wheeler Italiana for the supply of several fired heaters, beginning with a contract for a visbreaker heater in 1999.

“We are very pleased to be awarded this contract by JSC Mozyr Oil Refinery. It recognizes Foster Wheeler's outstanding track record in the successful delivery of hydrogen plants worldwide and of the excellent performance and reliability of Foster Wheeler TERRACE-WALL™ Reformers,” said Marco Moresco, Commercial Director of Foster Wheeler Italiana. “This award further strengthens Foster Wheeler's position in Eastern Europe and the C.I.S. countries.”

The plant will produce 25,000 Nm3/h (normal cubic meters per hour) of high purity hydrogen. The hydrogen unit is scheduled to be in operation by 2007.
