Jurong Shipyard, a subsidiary of SembCorp Marine is pleased to announce that the newly upgraded FPSO Sendje Berge will be blessed by Lady Sponsor, Mrs Gladys Daukoru, wife of Dr Edmund Daukoru, Presidential Advisor of Petroleum & Energy at a Blessing Ceremony held here this morning in Jurong Shipyard.

Measuring 349m x 52m x 27m, the 274,000 dwt FPSO Sendje Berge underwent major upgrading and installation works to boost her production and storage capabilities. Life extension works were also carried out to extend the FPSO vesselís life for an additional 4 to 8 years without drydocking. The FPSO upgrading is the Sendje Bergeís second operation at Jurong Shipyard, following the vesselís successful conversion from VLCC Berge Charlotte in 2000.

On delivery, the FPSO Sendje Berge will be on charter to leading oil and energy company Addax Petroleum, a subsidiary of Addax & Oryx Group, for exploration and development works in the Okwori Field, offshore Nigeria.

Mr Wong Weng Sun, Managing Director of Jurong Shipyard said "̀We are honoured to be chosen by Bergesen dy AS as a partner in the FPSO upgrading of Sendje Berge. The upgrading marks the fourth time Jurong Shipyard has worked with Bergesen, since the yard first converted Sendje Berge to an FPSO in 2000, followed by Sendje Ceiba in 2001 and Berge Helene in 2002. The continual return of Bergesenís fleet to our yard for conversion and upgrading works is a strong endorsement of Jurong Shipyardís offshore and marine engineering capabilities."
