Offshore Petroleum Production and Pipe-lines (Assessment of Environmental Effects) Regulations 1999 (As amended)

Shell U.K. Limited (Shell) has applied to the Secretary of State for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform (BERR) for consent to field re-develop, produce and export oil and gas from Gannet field located in block 21/25 of the UKCS. The proposed development includes the carrying out of two well workovers and the drilling of up to four sidetracks at the Gannet A field from the Gannet A platform. The Environmental Statement is required due to an increase in production from the Gannet A field in excess of 0.5 million cubic metres of gas over the current consent threshold.
