ConocoPhillips has awarded Aibel a frame agreement for maintenance and modifications in the Greater Ekofisk Area. The agreement is valid for five years, with an option of three plus three years.

‘This is a great day for Aibel, and everyone working in the company. The agreement is one of the largest for maintenance and modification work on the Norwegian Continental Shelf,’ says President and CEO in Aibel AS, Jan Skogseth.

President in ConocoPhillips Norway, Steinar Vaage, and President and CEO Jan Skogseth in Aibel, signed the agreement on Friday.

Solid experience at Ekofisk
Aibel has had a frame agreement for maintenance and modification work, Greater Ekofisk Modifications (GEM), for ConocoPhillips since 2002.

Approximately 800 employees are currently engaged in the contract, and every year 200 modification projects of varying size are carried out at the installations.

Skogseth says that Aibel shows fantastic HSE results at Ekofisk.

`We have six years without any lost time injuries, and three years without injuries that have resulted in medical treatment,’ says Skogseth.

Full service provider
Through the new frame agreement Aibel will deliver all services; engineering, procurement, fabrication, installation and commissioning.

The projects will be run from the main office in Stavanger. The offshore activities continue to be managed from an operations room in Stavanger.

‘Aibel has a large and skilled team that know Ekofisk well,’ Skogseth concludes.
