GS E&C Consortium was awarded U$501 million Saudi Manifa Gas Facilities Project, the first construction award from Saudi ARAMCO (Saudi Arabian Oil Co.). The contract was signed on August 12th, 2008, in Dahran, Saudi Arabia. Saudi ARAMCO Representative Mohammad Al-Juwair attended the signing ceremony along with GS E&C President Sang-Ryong Woo. By taking the first step towards the Saudi Arabian market, GS E&C will successfully complete the Manifa Gas Facilities Project and promote its reliability to the market.

The Manifa Project is located in Khursaniyah, about 50km northwest from Al Jubail, eastern Saudi Arabia. The project is to newly establish the Gas facilities with a capacity of 90 MMSCFD* Sour Associated Gas and 66,400 BPSD** Sour Condensate operation revamping, and to renovate current facilities.

Scheduled to be completed by April 2011, the project will allow GS E&C to execute engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning on a lump sum turnkey basis.

GS E&C has announced its ‘Vision 2015’ plan, a goal to become one of the leading global EPC contractors by the year 2015. Its main strategies in the Power Plant division are to increase overseas portion to over 90%, expand Gas projects based on oil and petroleum, and execute Glocalization (Globalization + Localization) into all aspects. Mr. Sunny Huh, Global Sales and Marketing Executive Vice President stated, “Following the awards of SP 9-10 (Iran) and PTT-LNG (Thailand), the Manifa Project is one good evidence that GS E&C has been consolidating its position towards the global leader in oil and gas industry.” * MMSCFD: Million Standard Cubic Feet per Day ** BPSD (Barrel Per Stream Day)
