PDVSA Intevep is getting the final details in order before initiating the Deep Conversion Project at the Puerto La Cruz refinery, in its Front End Engineering Development stage (FEED).

This project calls for the use of HDHPLUS/SHP technology, which is property of PDVSA and was developed by Intevep, the technological branch of the Venezuelan oil industry.

This technology focuses on converting residuals and heavy and extra-heavy crude oil into high quality refined fuel products for very demanding markets like the European one. This project represents the first step towards mass use of technology and fully being able to take advantage of the resources of the Orinoco oil Belt.

For the start of the FEED phase of this project, a meeting was held at the facilities of the PDVSA subsidiary with JGC and AXENS and the RPLC Project management, under the direction of Corporate Manager of Major Projects, Gabriel Oliveros.

It’s important to point out that Intvep’s General Management of Refinery and industrialization along with its technical management areas are actively participating in these actions.
