Grootint B.V. (Zwijndrecht), a subsidiary of Heerema Fabrication Group B.V., in a 50/50 partnership with ABB Lummus Global Inc. (Houston), has been awarded a contract by Esso Exploration Angola (block 15) Limited, a subsidiary of Exxon Mobil Corporation, to build a floating drilling platform for the Kizomba A project located offshore Angola. This platform will be installed in 1250 meters of water and will weigh more than 28.000 tons. This project is based around the four-legged Extended Tension Leg Platform (ETLP) concept developed by ABB Lummus Global.

Other members of the Heerema Group involved in this contract include, Dockwise (Breda) involved in the sea transport and Heerema Marine Contractors (Leiden) for anchoring the platform offshore.

This contract positively strengthens Grootint's position in the West African offshore market. The contract creates 1000 man-years of work for Grootint and its subcontractors. The platform will be delivered in the third Quarter of 2003.
