Hill International, Inc., the worldwide construction consulting firm, has announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary Hill International (UK), Ltd. has been awarded a contract by the Romanian Ministry of Finance to provide consulting services in connection with the design and construction of the South East European Pipeline. The proposed pipeline, which is expected to cost approximately €1.3 billion, will carry oil from the Black Sea oil terminal of Constanta to the Adriatic Sea port of Imisalj in Croatia.

Hill's services under the contract will include evaluating transport capacity and the use of existing transit facilities, examining legal and environmental issues relating to the project, preparing cost and economic analyses, making recommendations on a route for the new pipeline, and developing a project execution plan.

"The South East European Pipeline will open up Romanian oil resources to world markets and greatly improve the economy of the region," said Raouf S. Ghali, Senior Vice President in charge of Hill's international project management operations. "We look forward to contributing to such an important project," Ghali added.
