Dr. Pailin Chuchottaworn, President of IRPC Public Co., Ltd., presided over the ceremony to officially start the power synchronization for one out of six units of Combined Heat and Power Project (CHP). When the project is fully completed, the company will stop using the fuel oil to make steam which is in accordance with the company’s policy and commitment to reduce its impacts to environment. This will help company to reduce its release of CO2 as much as 400,000 ton per year, or equal to planting 23,059 rai of trees, which is line with the way to reduce the global warming according to Kyoto Protocol. The project has been certified by Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (TGO). In addition, the project is able to reduce the use of fuel oil to make steam as much as 240,000 ton per year and reduce the release of SO2 from the use of oil fuel by 40%.
