Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (NYSE:JEC) announced today that it has been awarded a contract for engineering design and procurement services for the $100 million Clean Gasoline Program at BP's Cherry Point Refinery in Blaine, Wash.

Project scope includes the addition of a hydrotreater and a UOP PenexPlus(TM) unit to provide low sulfur and low benzene components for the production of EPA and Carb 3 gasolines.

Jacobs' Houston, Texas, and Mumbai, India, offices will execute the project, working with BP's local engineering contractor, Anvil Corporation, located in Bellingham, Wash.

Jacobs currently provides engineering, maintenance, construction, and environmental services to BP in North America and Europe.

In making the announcement, Jacobs Group Vice President Pete Evans stated, "Our focus with BP worldwide is to follow a disciplined work process that facilitates application of best practices and lessons learned to continuously drive up capital efficiency. This project will also deliver significant savings to BP by taking advantage of our high-value engineering center in Mumbai, India."
