Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (NYSE: JEC) announced today that they had been awarded a contract by Bayernoil to provide basic and detailed engineering, procurement, and construction management services at the Vohburg refinery in Bavaria, Southern Germany.

Although the contract value was not disclosed, officials noted that the total investment cost is approximately $60 million.

The refinery in Vohburg is one of Bayernoil's three principal sites in Germany. For the project, Jacobs will focus primarily on the logistics area and the revamp of an existing Merox unit. They will establish a 15-20 person site team, supported by staff in Jacobs' home office in Cologne. The project is scheduled for completion early in 2009.

In making the announcement, Jacobs Group Vice President Andy Kremer said, "We began our relationship with Bayernoil last year and are pleased to be building trust with our performance. This challenging new project strengthens our collaboration and broadens our footprint in Bavaria."
