JGC Corporation (JGC) and its subsidiary JGC Algeria Ltd. have been awarded by Sonatrach, Algeria’s state-owned oil and gas company, the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services contract for gas & oil gathering units, separation, desalting and other facilities in Rhourde Nouss, Algeria.

The contract is of the lump-sum turnkey type, having a value of approximately US$500 million. Project completion is scheduled for the first half of 2011.

For this project, JGC plans to utilize JGC Algeria to execute a part of the work, as well as support JGC Algeria in increasing its staff numbers and technical capabilities.

JGC was awarded the contract for an oil refinery construction project in Arzew in 1969. Since that time, the company has accumulated a long and impressive track record of hydrocarbon projects for Sonatrach. As an experienced engineering and construction company possessing the latest technologies, JGC, together with JGC Algeria, will continue to vigorously promote sales activities aimed at expanding its business opportunities in Algeria.
