JGC Corporation (JGC) and its subsidiary JGC Algeria S.p.A have been awarded by Sonatrach, Algeria's state-owned oil and gas company, the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services contract for large-sized gas processing facilities with a throughput of 12 mmscmd, gas gathering and product pipelines, as well as supporting installations, in the Gassi Touil field.

The lump-sum turnkey contract is for approximately US$1,500 million and calls for provisional acceptance of the project in the first half of 2013.

With the award of the Gassi Touil Gas Processing Facilities, JGC will be working with JGC Algeria for the second time on an EPC project in Algeria. Moreover, this project will strengthen JGC Algeria’s project execution capabilities.

JGC was awarded the contract for an oil refinery construction project in Arzew in 1969. Since then, the company has accumulated a long and impressive track record of hydrocarbon projects for Sonatrach. Currently, JGC is executing an EPC project awarded in July 2008 for gas and oil separation facilities in the Rhourde Nouss field, 100 km south of the recently awarded Gassi Touil project.

As an experienced engineering and construction company possessing the latest technologies, JGC, together with JGC Algeria, will continue to vigorously promote sales activities aimed at expanding its business opportunities in Algeria.
