Mobil Cepu Limited (MCL), Ampolex (Cepu) Pte.Ltd. and PT. Pertamina EP Cepu started drilling appraisal wells in Banyu Urip field in Bojonegoro, East Java, Indonesia. The two wells are expected to be completed in 5-6 months.

The drilling is conducted to verify oil reserves in Banyu Urip field. The companies expect the drilling to be followed by other exploration wells throughout the Cepu block.

“Appraisal drilling in Banyu Urip is a milestone for ExxonMobil in Indonesia. With management experience and avid global expertise in technology, ExxonMobil expects to give significant contribution towards safe, environmentally friendly and financially eficient activities in Banyu Urip,” said Brian Boles, President of Mobil Cepu Ltd.
