Malaysia Marine and Heavy Engineering Sdn Bhd (MMHE) signed another contract with ExxonMobil Exploration and Production Malaysia Inc (EMEPMI) on 3 November 2011.

MMHE, a unit of MHB, is awarded the contract to construct an 18,000-metric tonne integrated deck that includes facilities for gas compression, water injection, production separation and living quarters for 145 personnel.

At the signing of the contract EMEPMI was represented by its Chairman and President, Mr. Hugh Thompson while Mr. Dominique de Soras MD & CEO of MHB signed on behalf of MMHE. Mr. Manoel Gomes General Manager Marketing and Sales of MMHE and Puan Noorashikin Jidan, EMEPMI Area Procurement Manager were signatories as witness.

Mr. Dominic de Soras in his speech said that MMHE is ready to execute the job as the yard is now fully completed with all the facilities needed to effectively execute a project of this nature. He also expressed his thanks to EMEPMI for their trust and confidence in the company.

The scope of work under the contract included procurement, fabrication, testing, load-out, transportation, installation and commissioning of the integrated Tapis R offshore platform deck, as well as two inter-platform bridges. The Tapis Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) project is expected to be completed by end of 2013.

The signing ceremony ended with the symbolic first cut of steel for both Tapis EOR project and Telok Gas development project. The Telok project was signed earlier on 18 October 2011. Present to complete the symbolic first cut of steel were Mr. Thompson, Mr. De Soras and Encik Mohamed Abdullah representing Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd.
