OGX Receives Operating License to Begin Natural Gas Production in the Parnaíba Basin

2012

OGX granted the Operating License to begin production of natural gas in the Gavião Real and Gavião Azul fields in the Parnaíba Basin. The license was granted by the Environmental and Natural Resources Secretary of the State of Maranhão ("SEMA/MA").

The development of the Gavião Real Field is advancing on schedule. All production wells have been drilled and are in the process of completion and connection to the Gas Treatment Unit (GTU). Natural gas production at the Gavião Real Field will begin in the fourth quarter of 2012, with the commissioning of the GTU and the turbines for the MPX Parnaíba Thermoelectric Complex. Commercial production is scheduled to begin in January 2013.
