Pacific Trail Pipelines Limited Partnership (PTP) announced today the filing of an application for an Environmental Assessment Certificate for the proposed Kitimat to Summit Lake Pipeline Looping Project (KSL Project) with the British Columbia Environmental Assessment Office (BCEAO). The KSL Project entails the construction of approximately 462 kilometers of 36-inch diameter pipeline and compression facilities as required to enable PTP to accept delivery of up to 1 billion cubic feet per day of regasified liquefied natural gas (LNG) from a receiving terminal proposed by Kitimat LNG Inc. (Terminal). The KSL Project will provide users of the Terminal with access to a diversity of gas markets across North America.

The Environmental Assessment Certificate application for the KSL Project was prepared in accordance with the approved terms of reference and Section 11 Order previously issued for the KSL Project by the BCEAO. The application will be screened for 30 days to ensure it fully addresses the approved terms of reference followed by a legislated 180-day Provincial review process that is harmonized with a Federal review process.

PTP is expecting a decision on the Environmental Assessment Certificate for the KSL Project near the end of the first quarter of 2008.
