Pertamina EP is optimistic that oil production from Pondok Tengah field in Bekasi will exceed 12,000 barrel per day by the end of the year. Pertamina is intensifying development activities, including building production facilities to raise output, Pertamina EP President Director Kun Kurnely said in Jakarta on Thursday (5/31).

“We believe we can reach 12,000 barrels a day this year. That far exceeds our initial target,”" Kun Kurnely said, as quoted by several national media.

Pondok Tengah started production in August 2006. At present its output is at 4,000 bpd.
The government targets to increase national oil and gas production by 30% in 2009. The additional output is expected to come from Pondok Tengah and Cepu.(***)
