INPEX Holdings Inc. is pleased to announce that the Sisi-Nubi gas fields offshore East Kalimantan in Indonesia have come on stream. Lying roughly 25 kilometers from the Mahakam Delta in 60 to 90 meters water depths, the two fields are located in the Offshore Mahakam and Tengah blocks.

INPEX CORPORATION (INPEX), a subsidiary of INPEX Holdings Inc. has a 50% interest in the Offshore Mahakam Block and INPEX Tengah, Ltd., a subsidiary of INPEX Holdings Inc. has a 22.5% interest in the Tengah Block. TOTAL has a 50% interest in the Offshore Mahakam and a 22.5% in the Tengah. Pertamina is also the party to the Tengah Block.

*The Sisi-Nubi fields are operated by INPEX (47.9%), TOTAL (47.9%) and Pertamina (4.2%).
This first phase development of Sisi-Nubi includes the installation of three wellhead platforms, a reception facility and a subsea pipeline gathering network, all completed on schedule and within budget. Gas and condensate is then sent to the existing Tunu processing centre. From there gas is then piped to the Bontang LNG plant and condensates to the export terminal at Senipah.
Both fields are characterised by multiple layers of poorly consolidated sands, and the 27 development wells to be drilled to complete phase 1 require advanced drilling techniques. Development drilling started in September 2007 and will enable to reach production plateau of some 350 million cubic feet per day (10 million cubic metres per day) within the next 18 months. Further development phases are foreseen later to extend the plateau period.

In addition to the Offshore Mahakam, the INPEX group has been involved in petroleum exploration and production activities in South Natuna Sea Block B, Offshore Northwest Java, Offshore Southeast Sumatra and Tangguh project as LNG development project. INPEX is also conducting appraisal activities of the Abadi gas field in the Masela Block, Timor Sea, in which it owns a 100% participating interest as an operator.
