Proteus Oil Pipeline Company, LLC (Proteus) today announced an Open Season for parties interested in subscribing for capacity on its 28" diameter transportation system (Proteus System) which has been designed to transport 420 thousand barrels per day from deepwater leases in the Mississippi Canyon and Atwater Valley areas of the Gulf of Mexico to a shelf platform to be located at South Pass Block 89.

Proteus is owned 75% by Mardi Gras Transportation System Inc. (MGTSI), a wholly owned subsidiary of BP America Inc., and 25% by ExxonMobil Pipeline Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of Exxon Mobil Corporation. MGTSI is the construction manager and operator of the Proteus System.
