In the ever increasing LNG market (Liquefied Natural Gas), Howden Thomassen is has been awarded a major project by the largest LNG import company in the world: Korea Gas Corporation (KOGAS). HTC will manufacture and install two C-45.2 HP compressors (2 stages).

Minimum wear
The non lubricated compressors will be equipped with Thomassen’s Free Floating Piston (FFP™) in order to reduce rider ring wear to an absolute minimum. Furthermore, process piping, process air fin coolers and local control panels are also part of the scope of supply. The compressors will be driven by induction motors with a power rating of 2,800kW each.

Send-out Compressors
The send-out compressors shall be located at the yet to be built LNG Terminal in Samcheok, South Korea. The terminal is the fifth in Korea and will provide gas to the North-East of the peninsula.
