July 2010

Refineria de Cartagena S. A. (REFICAR) has selected Merichem Company (Merichem) to provide multiple technologies for treatment of hydrocarbons and spent caustic at its refinery in Cartagena, Colombia. Merichem will license its AMINEX™, THIOLEX™ and REGEN® technologies and supply modular equipment to treat Coker LPG and Saturated LPG at the facility. Merichem will also license its NAPFINING™, MERICAT™ II, and AQUAFINING™ technologies as well as supply modular equipment, including salt and clay beds for treatment of kerosene/jet fuel. These technologies are based on Merichem’s proprietary, state-of-the-art, non-dispersive FIBER FILM® Contactor.

In addition, REFICAR has also selected Merichem’s MERICON™ technology and equipment for the treatment of spent caustic generated by new and existing units.
