The PB-KU-A2 was constructed for the client PEMEX EXPLORACION Y PRODUCCION. Dragados Offshore in Mexico, S.A. of C.V. has developed the engineering, procurement, fabrication, loading, interconnection and commissioning.

The contract commenced on the 10th of August, 2004 and the fabrication works were executed in the Yard in Mexico located in Pueblo Viejo, Veracruz.

The project consists of 4 interconnection bridges, 2 tripods, 1 substructure and 1 main substructure to finally be part of a production platform of 19.000 tons for oil pumping and with a capacity to process 250 thousand daily barrels.

It is equipped with 3 booster turbocompressors with capacity to operate 72 million daily cubical gas feet, 2 steam recovers with capacity 5 million cubical feet per day of gas and 3 turbines for electrical energy generation with capacity 2.5 MW per each.

The offshore installation of main deck (8.400 metric ton) finalized on 12th March 2007 and rest of structures on 18th April, 2007. Then, all interconnection, commissioning and performance works started.

The introduction of gas for equipment commissioning was carried out on 18th June, 2007, which allowed the start up works.

Last 16th July, 2007, the platform control list prior to oil introduction was checked being in apt condition.

Last 21st July, 2007 at 15:25 hours, PB-KU-A2 platform initiated the oil export works. These works were carried out under the highest security standards and no incident was reported.

At present, skid control reading of oil export is of 45 thousand daily barrels.

With the achievement of this important aim, Dragados Offshore of Mexico has again demonstrated to have a high level for the management and execution of huge projects and to satisfy client interests improving day by day with completion and delivery dates.

The platform is located in the Ku Maloob Zaap Oil Field
