Qatargas loaded the second cargo in the spot LNG Sales & Purchase Agreement with Gaz de France on 14-15 February, 2000. The LNG vessel EDOUARD LD loaded approximately 125,640 cubic meters, which will be delivered to Gaz de France’s receiving terminal at Montoir on the Atlantic Coast of North-Western France.

This delivery was the 223rd cumulative LNG loading for Qatargas. The company’s long term commitment for LNG deliveries is primarily to eight Japanese buyers: Chubu Electric Power Co. Inc., Tohoku Electric Power Co. Inc., The Tokyo Electric Power Co. Inc., The Kansai Electric Power Co. Inc., The Chugoku Electric Power Co. Inc., Tokyo Gas Co. Ltd., Osaka Gas Co. Ltd. and Toho Gas Co. Ltd.

In addition, Qatargas has sold spot LNG cargoes to Enagas (Spain), Botas (Turkey), Edison (Italy), Duke Energy (USA), CMS (USA), and Kogas (Korea).

This agreement, which was initiated on July 3, 1999, allows Qatargas and Gaz de France to enter into a commercial business relationship, in which Qatargas continues to demonstrate its long-term comprehensive experience in fulfilling the requirements of LNG buyers.

This is yet another milestone for Qatargas in its quest to deliver LNG to safely and reliably to traditional and new buyers. Qatargas now has sold LNG to a total of seven country markets, which is a major accomplishment in the worldwide LNG business.
