Chinese oil giant Sinopec has awarded Shengli Engineering & Consulting (SLECC) a contract for a feasibility study on the Chengdao offshore expansion project in Bohai Bay.

SLECC said the three months of work will cover the engineering for one central platform and 14 satellite platforms plus associated facilities.

The main plaform will be designed to process 250,000 barrels per day of fluids plus associated gas.
The Chengdao field, located in water depths between five metres and 30 metres, started producing in 1991 and current oil output is 33,000 barrelsper day.
