Sinopec Maoming Company’s newly built 10MMTPA CDU/VDU, which is a key refining capacity expansion project had been operating safely for 45 days by January 20, 2013. The new unit has good crude flexibility, light oil yield, total yield, product quality, energy consumption and anti-corrosion performance. During the reported period, the refinery processed 47,300 tonnes of crude on a daily basis, the highest among history and key indicators of processing loss, comprehensive energy consumption, overall commodity yield and light oil yield had all been improved. The comprehensive energy consumption in December, 2012 was only 47.32 kilograms of oil equivalent per tonne of crude processed, which was the monthly lowest in history, indicating that the new unit reached a new level in green and low-carbon operation.
