StatoilHydro has awarded an EPCI contract to upgrade the mud system on the Oseberg C platform to Aibel AS. The scope includes project management, engineering, procurement, fabrication and installation work, both on- and offshore.

Aibel AS President and CEO, Jan Skogseth, comments: “We are proud to win such an interesting project, where the overall goal is to improve the working environment during operation and maintenance while making necessary upgrades to the system. New equipment will significantly improve functionality and control, while at the same time we will maintain and ensure a maximum focus on health and safety.”

Work starts immediately and will be managed from Aibel’s facilities in Haugesund. The installation period for phase one, the majority of the new module elements is expected to start in October 2009. The second phase, involving the installation of a new high pressure mud pump and two new mud tanks with a total capacity of 130m is due to start around a year later.
