The 200,000 TPY alkylation unit in Shijiazhuang Petrochemical Company was successfully mechanically handed over to the client. The unit was designed with the SINOALKY process co-developed by SRIPP, SINOPEC Shijiazhuang Petrochemical Company and SINOPEC Luoyang Petrochemical Engineering Corporation. In this process the olefins and isobutanes in the LPG are used as the feedstock. Under the effect of sulfric acid as catalyst, the olefins react with isobutane to produce alkylate whic is the high-octane component for gasoline blending. As compared with the process with HF catalyst, the alkylate of this process contains almost no sulfur, olefins and aromatics. It is a good process for gasoline upgrading.
