Techint Italy has been awarded a contract in Saudi Arabia for transportation and storage of post-refinery solids.

Techint Italy is to build a complete transportation and storage system for post-refinery sulfur and petroleum coke in Yanbù, Saudi Arabia´s largest Red Sea port, for customer Saudi Aramco, the state-owned oil company of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The system is part of the "Yanbù Export Refinery Project (YERP)" for the construction of a new full conversion refinery to process 400,000 barrels of oil a day. The hand-over is scheduled for the first quarter of 2014.

Techint Italy will provide turnkey engineering, procurement and construction activities (EPC): the transportation and storage of petroleum coke, from the delayed coker to the industrial port of King Fahd; the sulfur solidification process and stocking at the industrial port of King Fahd; the loading of petroleum coke and solid sulfur materials on to ships.

"We are proud of our success in winning this important project, for which the industry´s top international players presented bids," said Techint Italy chief executive officer Paolo Bigi. "Collaboration with one of the Middle East´s most dynamic economies strengthens our presence in an area with enormous growth potential."
