On March 18, 2009, the board of directors of Preem AB (publ) (“Preem”) decided to put on hold the upgrade project at Preem’s refinery at Lysekil, which included a coker, caused by the present conditions in the oil market combined with the global financial situation. As a result, contractors and consultants involved in the project will be phased out and Preem’s own staff will be transferred back to their old positions. Preem intends to dismantle the project so that work can recommence quickly when market conditions permit.
